Valitacell are looking for a post-doctoral candidate in the area of Regenerative Medicine to host as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship programmes (Career-FIT Career Development Fellowship & Individual Fellowship {Society & Enterprise}), in collaboration with Professor Frank Barry, the Scientific Director of the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI) at NUI Galway.

Valitacell is an Irish biotechnology start-up company focused on the development of technologies that allow companies to manufacture bio-therapeutic drugs faster and cheaper. Valitacell products allow users to select cells with a greater regulatory confidence at the earliest possible stage during the drug development pathway, and are transforming the cell line development process with simple and robust technologies.

Valitacell has recently initiated a programme of research to develop new testing protocols for mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which will be employed as release tests in a GMP environment, as process control and optimization tools and as a platform for media development. This project will be part of an ongoing collaborative effort between Valitacell and REMEDI to develop novel cell technology platforms.

The Career-FIT Fellowship offers an opportunity for experienced researchers to carry out applied research with an Irish Technology Centre and develop their careers with an enterprise secondment. This Fellowship aims to promote interaction between researchers and industry by providing the opportunity to engage in market focused research that is directly relevant to an industry agenda.

Elligibility:

  • The Fellowship is only available to researchers from outside of Ireland.
  • Experienced researchers with a doctoral degree or equivalent or at least four years experience in laboratory research in cell biology, molecular biology, analytical chemistry or cell-based assay development should apply.
